The second free practice session has just come to an end, with George Russell finishing ahead of Lando Norris and his teammate Kimi Antonelli. Below are the full FP2 results from the Canadian Grand Prix.
An impressive George Russell topped the timesheets in the second free practice session in Montreal, despite running on a harder tyre compound than Lando Norris, who finished just 28 thousandths behind his fellow Briton in second place. Third went to a strong Kimi Antonelli, although nearly three tenths off his teammate’s pace.
Alexander Albon also delivered a solid performance, placing fourth in his Williams—likewise on medium tyres like Russell. A steady Fernando Alonso rounded out the top five, finishing ahead of an underwhelming Oscar Piastri on this Canadian afternoon.
It was another underwhelming session for Ferrari: Hamilton ended up only eighth on his hot lap, though he showed promising pace in the long run. Just behind him came Max Verstappen, who once again will have plenty of work to do ahead.
In addition to Charles Leclerc’s absence—forced to sit out FP2 after his heavy crash in the first session—Lance Stroll also found himself in the spotlight for the wrong reasons, hitting the wall in the opening minutes of the session.
