Results FP1 | Verstappen fastest in Britain, Albon surprises in third

Max Verstappen set the fastest time in the first free practice session of the Grand Prix weekend in Britain. Verstappen was four tenths faster than teammate Sergio Perez. Alexander Albon finished third for Williams.

The first free practice session at Silverstone went without issue. Only Nyck de Vries had a moment and ended up in the gravel trap. The Dutchman was able to continue without damage. In the end, Red Bull Racing was the fastest. Behind Albon followed Fernando Alonso for Aston Martin and Charles Leclerc for Ferrari. It was notable that Mercedes did not use the soft tyres, as a result the German constructor did not get further than P12 and P14.
