Marnik Kok caught the Formula 1 world around twenty years ago. A deep passion for motorsport, Ferrari, and a background in journalism led him to contribute to various (international) F1 platforms. Since 2020, Marnik has been active as an editor and journalist in the pinnacle of motorsport for several media outlets, including De Telegraaf. As of 2025, he brings that experience to GPblog as a seasoned editor.
During his active years as a journalist — now working as a freelancer — Marnik attended numerous events, with the Dutch Grand Prix standing out as one of the highlights. In addition to his work at GPblog, Marnik is also active in the communications sector at a major national provider and steps in wherever needed. Sitting still is not an option — especially not in motorsport!
It’s rare to see such a gathering of Formula 1 legends—and by legends, we mean the real deal: world champions. In Great Britain, Karun Chandhok shared a heartwarming photo capturing a perfect slice of F1 nostalgia.
For Chandhok, it was a special moment, as he shared on his social media. An incredible group of world champions from motorsport history gathered at the Goodwood Festival of Speed for one very special photo — one picture, fourteen titles.
Amid all the recent news about Horner and Verstappen, it’s nice to take a moment for some nostalgia. Back in the day, drivers risked their lives even more than they do now.
Seeing these former rivals come together with big smiles is a beautiful reminder of the rich history of motorsport’s premier class.
Legends like Mario Andretti, Jacques Villeneuve, Emerson Fittipaldi, Sir Jackie Stewart, Mika Hakkinen, Alain Prost, and Nigel Mansell reunited — no doubt sharing some unforgettable stories. Check out the post below!
