Minardi shares his opinion on Mekies
"The previous race was a - let's say - lucky race. But the real problem starts now, because now all the pieces need to fall into place. The small parts, the stomach ache, the bad atmosphere... Believe me, when you work with so many employees, people you don't even know by name despite having been there for years...", he told Motorsport.it.
"And then imagine having to manage a team in the evening or at night - even with the experience you have gained in the past - then I believe it is really not easy. That's why he deserves some recognition and time to grow into it,” the Italian concluded.
Before taking over Christian Horner’s role at Red Bull Racing, Mekies served as team principal at Racing Bulls. Prior to that, the Frenchman accumulated many years of experience working as a Formula 1 engineer.
