Hollywood's new blockbuster, F1 the Movie, is now finally out for fans to see in cinemas. However, for leading actor Brad Pitt, his work behind the wheel has not yet been finished, as McLaren releases images of the test he took part in alongside Lando Norris. Since 2023, the 61-year-old has been seen in the paddock filming for one of the most highly anticipated films of the year, with F1 the Movie now released internationally on June 25 and June 27 across the US.
To celebrate the movie being relased, it was announced that Pitt, who is playing leading character Sonny Hayes, was granted a unique opportunity for a private day of testing at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, invited by Zak Brown.
Since 2023, Brad Pitt has joined drivers in national anthems and on-track action to pick up vital filming for the Hollywood blockbuster.
Images of Pitt's test released
Pitt was able to get behind the wheel of the MCL60, McLaren's car that took to the grid for the 2023 season, but not before he visited the McLaren factory in Woking for engineering meetings, a seat fit and some intensive simulator sessions last month.
After that, to mark the release of the movie, the American joined Norris at COTA in Texas for a private day of testing, with CEO Brown inviting the actor along. Pitt only drove a modified Formula 2 car during filming for the movie, so driving the MCL60 was
something "really extraordinary".
"Oh my god, what a rush," was how Pitt reacted to driving around in the 2023 McLaren challenger, a car that finished P4 in the constructors' championship with 302 points and nine podiums to its name.
