Cadillac's Valtteri Bottas is set to start the Mexico City Grand Prix from the back of the grid on Sunday afternoon.
The first grid penalty has already been handed out at the Mexico City Grand Prix. Several power unit components have been changed in the Finnish driver's Cadillac, including the internal combustion engine, turbocharger, energy store, control electronics unit and MGU-K.
These component changes add up to a 50-place grid penalty for the Finn, which means he will start Sunday's race from the back of the grid.
Bottas is yet complete a single lap today as of now. During the first free practice session, he handed over his car to Colton Herta.

Leclerc and Ferrari set the pace in FP1 in Mexico City
Charles Leclerc topped the opening session of the weekend in Mexico. The Monegasque driver finished ahead of Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli and Frederik Vesti. Moreover, his lap time was around two tenths of a second quicker than the fastest time recorded in FP1 during the 2025 season.
However, the final results are not the most representative in terms of the pecking order this weekend, as Max Verstappen, Lando Norris and George Russell, among others, did not participate in the session.

Stewards have also launched their first investigation of the Grand Prix weekend after Audi sent Freddie Slater out onto the track with a fan still attached to his car. A team representative was summoned to appear before the stewards at 14:00 local time (20:00 UK time).
