Lewis Hamilton was handed a five-second penalty by the stewards for a false start at the start of the British Grand Prix.
The Briton, like his teammate, got off to a strong start, with both drivers passing Kimi Antonelli to move into second and first respectively. Shortly afterwards, however, the stewards noted Hamilton after spotting wheel movement at the start.
The subsequent investigation confirmed the infringement, meaning Hamilton will have to serve a five-second penalty at his pit stop while currently under pressure from Antonelli. As things stand, serving the penalty would see him lose position to both Russell and Verstappen.
