Ferrari came under FIA scrutiny after breaching a procedural regulation between the opening and second practice sessions of the Belgian Grand Prix. After FP1, Ferrari formally returned two sets of dry-weather tyres for both Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton through the electronic system. However, the tyres themselves were not handed back to the designated supplier before FP2 began, leaving the team in breach of Article B6.4.2.
The matter has now been referred to the FIA stewards, who will review the incident and decide whether any further action or sanctions are warranted.
Ferrari endured a mixed FP2 at Spa, with Hamilton emerging as the team's standout performer in fourth after another competitive showing. Leclerc, meanwhile, was unable to match his teammate's pace and finished outside the top 10 in 11th after a difficult session.
FP2 was brought to a halt twice during the afternoon. The first interruption came after gravel was scattered across the track in the opening minutes, while the second followed Pierre Gasly's heavy crash, which left the Frenchman stranded on circuit after his Alpine lost its rear wing on impact with the barriers.
Away from Ferrari, Kimi Antonelli led the way with a 1:45.944 to finish comfortably fastest ahead of Lando Norris and Max Verstappen. Racing Bulls continued its impressive form by placing both Arvid Lindblad and Liam Lawson inside the top 10, whereas Aston Martin endured another difficult session, with both cars ending more than five seconds adrift of the benchmark.
