Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc started from 11th and 12th in Austria, but in the race the Ferrari drivers made up for it. With fifth and eighth place finishes they did good business in the world championship.
Team boss Mattia Binotto was impressed by Sainz and Leclerc's performance in Austria on Sunday afternoon. "The fifth position I think is a result that reflects our strength this weekend," he stated in conversation with Motorsport.com. "It's a shame for Charles because he could have had a better position. However, when he tried to attack Perez, he was in the wrong place."
The Formula One teams have the week off, after which another exciting race awaits in England. "Silverstone will be a very difficult race because of the wear and tear at the front. We will see a situation similar to France, but we will try to make different choices compared to Paul Ricard."

Victory for Verstappen

Sainz eventually finished over 57 seconds behind Max Verstappen who celebrated another Grand Prix victory in Austria. The Dutchman stayed well ahead of Valtteri Bottas who finished second. Lewis Hamilton was unable to do better than fourth.
