A positive United States Grand Prix for Lewis Hamilton, who crossed the line in fourth, just behind his teammate.
“Definitely a trend. (We are) Moving forward, it’s going in the right direction”

When asked whether the result in Austin marked the continuation of a positive trend that’s been building over the past few races — particularly in comparison with his teammate — the Brit told GPblog: “Definitely a trend. (We are) Moving forward, it’s going in the right direction.
“I’m definitely feeling better in the car. I’m definitely going to deep dive in these next couple of days to try and figure out how I can extract more force in the car and get the car in a slightly better place. But overall, pretty decent. The team did a great job today.”
Finally, when asked if the car felt better in qualifying and the race compared to the Sprint, Hamilton concluded: “It definitely felt better. Today, I think we went, after FP1, we kind of went somehow the wrong way in setup-wise.”

I didn’t have the pace that I had in FP1 for the rest of the weekend, but there’s lots of positives to take from today and the strategy left me out. I ended up 10 seconds behind, so it’s a bit frustrating in that respect, but great points for the team.”

Ferrari close back in on Mercedes in the Constructors

McLaren have already put the Constructors’ Championship beyond reach with their second straight title in Singapore, but the chase for P2 is now wide open. Ferrari’s strong performance in Austin has brought them right back into contention against Mercedes.
Leclerc’s podium finish and Hamilton’s fourth place proved decisive, allowing the Maranello outfit to claw back valuable points after Mercedes endured a tough weekend.
Red Bull also came away from Texas with a solid score, as Verstappen’s win and Tsunoda’s seventh place added to an already fruitful outing.
