McLaren raises stunning amount with 2026 F1 car that is yet to be revealed

It had already been confirmed that the reigning world champions’ 2026 car was auctioned before the start of the season in partnership with RM Sotheby's, as part of the Triple Crown series.
The 2026 McLaren fetched an impressive $11,480,000 (£8,494,000) at auction. The MCL40A will be powered by a Mercedes-AMG power unit, although the buyer will have to wait until 2028 for delivery. Until then, a 2025 show car will be provided.
The purchase also includes a visit to the McLaren Technology Centre, hospitality for two Formula 1 Grands Prix, and access to both the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Indianapolis 500.
