The director of 'F1: The Movie', Joseph Kosinski, has confirmed that talks about a potential sequel have been discussed with Apple after previous meetings with Lewis Hamilton.

The film that followed driver Sonny Hayes, played by Hollywood icon Brad Pitt, along with teammate Joshua Pearce, portrayed by Damson Idris, at the struggling APXGP team, was a huge success at the global box office, surpassing $630 million.
Now, rumours of a sequel continue to build after Kosinski's confirmation of conversations with Apple, with the tech company influential in the technical, financial and production aspects of the movie.
"We're in that stage of just kind of dreaming up what that next chapter for Sonny Hayes would be and for APXGP," stated Kosinski while speaking to Variety.

"But, based on the reaction from around the world to this movie, it's something that people want to see, and I'd be happy to go back and do it because we had so much fun making this one."
It comes after Apple CEO Tim Cook also confirmed to Variety that meetings were already in the works:  "It's definitely something that's being talked about. It's been such a huge summer blockbuster for us. We're so proud of it.
"The talent involved are such next level, and Brad [Pitt] did such a wonderful job acting in it. We're super proud of it, and we can't wait to bring it to the surface."

Hamilton to be involved once again?

Earlier in November, 'F1: The Movie' producer Jerry Bruckheimer also revealed that he, along with Cook, had meetings with Lewis Hamilton regarding the potential sequel.
The seven-time world champion had a vital role in the production of the movie, working as an executive producer, and there was also an on-screen cameo for the 40-year-old.
Earlier in the year, Hamilton spoke out about the potential of a second movie, explaining that there is no need to make any snap decisions.
