F1 testing to remain at Barcelona

F1 pre-season testing will remain at Barcelona for the 2019 season after there was interest from some teams to move the event to Bahrain.
Surprise weather meant that some of this season’s testing was written off with snow covering the circuit, hence the calls to move to the Sakhir International Circuit, although these plans have since been dropped.
That left teams to decide between Barcelona or Jerez, which has not been used as a testing circuit since 2015.
Testing will again consist of two four day tests, the first from 18-21 February and the second from 26 February to March 1.
This also means that the date for the Australian Grand Prix is set, with next year’s season opener set for March 17.
