After three eventful races, the standings in the Constructors' Championship have once again shaken up considerably.
Ferrari is extending its lead, while Mercedes is again doing unexpectedly good business.
Ferrari extends lead
Despite
Carlos Sainz's early retirement,
Ferrari further extends its lead in the championship, made possible in part by
Charles Leclerc's dominant win and
Max Verstappen's retirement.
Meanwhile, Mercedes continues to outrun
Red Bull Racing after the German racing stable again did unexpectedly good business in Melbourne. It is the second time this season that the team has taken full advantage of Red Bull's bad luck and managed to secure a podium finish as a result.
With the second place of
Sergio Perez the damage remains somewhat limited for
Red Bull Racing. The team currently has ten points to make up on Mercedes and no less than 49 points on Ferrari, which is excelling in reliability so far.
