The second free practice session in Spielberg has just wrapped up, with McLaren forcefully returning to the top of the timesheets. Lando Norris finished ahead of his teammate and a surprising Lance Stroll. Here are the final results from FP2 of the Austrian Grand Prix. After George Russell topped the timesheets in FP1, McLaren appears to have reclaimed its dominance in Austria during FP2, with Lando Norris setting the fastest time of 1:04.580 — just a tenth ahead of teammate Oscar Piastri.
Third place for Max Verstappen, the first driver behind the two McLarens, but still three tenths off the pace. Fourth position goes to a surprising Lance Stroll, with an Aston Martin that appears to be improving weekend after weekend.
Fifth place for Charles Leclerc on a challenging Friday for Ferrari, while George Russell, who set the fastest time in FP1, finishes only sixth.
An afternoon to forget for Lewis Hamilton, who finished only tenth and was summoned to the stewards after impeding Kimi Antonelli during the session.
