F1 Full Result | Kimi Antonelli wins the 2026 Belgian Grand Prix

The Italian lined up in Pole Position ahead of the 44-lap race, and has converted that into more important points in the F1 standings.

Sunday's action saw drama from the very first lap, with Antonelli's teammate George Russell crashing out after contact with Lewis Hamilton at Les Combes - a huge blow for the 28-year-old's title hopes. Hamilton consequently received a five-second penalty for the incident - and will also be investigated after the race for an unsafe release.

Lap 8 then saw more drama involving Ferrari, this time Charles Leclerc in his defence against Oscar Piastri at the end of the Kemmel straight. The Monegasque made contact with Piastri's McLaren, resulting in a damaged front wing for the Aussie, who was then overtaken by Hamilton soon after. The stewards, however, ruled no further action.

Just prior to the halfway point, it was Leclerc the big beneficiary of a second Virtual Safety Car. The Ferrari driver took an opportune pit stop to emerge with the net lead, and it didn't take long for Leclerc to get past Norris, who was on an alternative strategy. The Briton, starting from P13, nonetheless made life difficult for Antonelli as the Italian hunted down the Ferrari driver.

With just ten laps to go, Antonelli got the job done on Leclerc down the Kemmel straight, and despite a valiant effort from the Monegasque to hang on behind the 19-year-old, it was the Mercedes man who took his sixth win of the season.

Much of the focus, however, will be on Russell - the Briton has now fallen to P3 in the championship standings after his DNF. Speaking to Sky F1, Russell said: "I'm numb to the disappointment, so when it happens so often, you just get used to it."
