A victory in Ferrari 's home country was not in the cards for Charles Leclerc. Yet he seemed to be going to limit the damage with a podium finish to the maximum, but he threw it away in his pursuit of second place from Sergio Perez. An incomprehensible mistake, Nico Rosberg believes.
Leclerc may still have a sizeable lead in the championship, but it was a costly mistake. Especially considering the competition the Ferrari driver faces, Rosberg argues to Sky Sports. "When you're fighting for a championship against Max you can't afford a spin when you're driving on your own."

Rosberg thinks Ferrari made mistake with pit stop

He continues: "The pressure was on Perez, not Charles. He has to avoid that for the rest of the season." Like Helmut Marko, Rosberg thinks the Monegasque was still lucky not to have suffered more damage.
He therefore thought Ferrari's pit stop was somewhat premature. "I think Ferrari made a mistake, they should have let him carry on one more lap to see how the front wing hangs on," Rosberg states. He believes that Leclerc could possibly have finished fourth if he had stayed outside.
