Daniel Ricciardo "targeting a better second half of the season" after summer break

Daniel Ricciardo is looking forward to racing again after the summer break. The Renault driver will be hoping for a decent points finish after a poor first half of the season and will hope that his car and engine are more reliable than at previous races.
“I think most drivers love racing at Spa," Ricciardo said. "It’s such a cool place and a track with a lot of history. I seem to have a decent record there; a win in 2014 and podiums in 2016 and 2017. It’s a long lap – the longest of the year – so if you do make a mistake you know there is a chance to make it back up somewhere."
Ricciardo would have been hoping for a better season with Renault but reveals that the second half of the season should be better.
“It’s been a challenging season so far, we can’t hide from that. There have been some positives, some things not so good, so the summer break was ideal for us. We’re targeting a better second half of the season to catch our competitors. I know we can do it, we just need cleaner weekends.”
Renault will be hoping for improvements and that they can get back in the battle at the top of the midfield.
