Sebastian Vettel has won 51 races and four World Championships. Not only that, but he is well in the fight to win a fifth world championship this season. But the German has never won an F1 race starting from 3rd or lower!
That statistic includes his time at Sauber, Toro Rosso, Red Bull and Ferrari. It's very remarkable and frankly unbelievable.
Vettel has been on pole 55 times, but today starts from 4th. He has to pass his team-mate and both Silver Arrows to stand a chance of beating the statistic. He has the best car in the dry and remains optimistic about the race today.
"I think in the dry we were pretty much in control. Obviously, it wasn't dry this afternoon, so it wasn't meant to be," Vettel told F1i.
"But we will see tomorrow. Obviously, as the race is long so we will see what we can do," he added.
