Franco Colapinto has joked that Lando Norris has made Max Verstappen and George Russell 'agree for once' after their comments following the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
The Argentine driver caused a collision that wiped out both his Alpine teammate Pierre Gasly and Norris after a safety car restart at Baku last weekend. Norris initially suggested that Colapinto should be handed a race ban for the incident, before later apologising for his comments in a post on social media.
The comments made by Norris contrasted to those of Verstappen and Russell who felt that the McLaren driver had been harsh with his assessment.
Speaking to the media including GPblog ahead of this weekend's Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia, Colapinto said: "Well I think Lando made Max and George agree for once."
He then highlighted how supportive Verstappen was with Kimi Antonelli after the Italian wiped out Verstappen during last year's Austrian Grand Prix. Colapinto said: "Kimi locked up, same as me, and you can see the mistake and Max probably lost the championship on that. Kimi went to apologise and Max was very supportive straight away.

"It's just a difference you know on experience or different athletes. Max has always been supportive with the young kids because he also made mistakes and it's also the way he is."

Colapinto: Norris comments in 'heat of moment'

Colapinto has revealed that all is good between him and Norris and that they have had a conversation since the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
Asked about the comments made by Norris, Colapinto said: "I think he was in the heat at the moment. Of course, he he knows what comments create because he suffered from it, or he was probably the the driver that was speaking the most. So I was very surprised, but then, of course, he apologised, and I think, unfortunately, he also got a lot of hate from it.
"it's a tricky situation with the outside world. I understand needing the heat of the moment to say things like that."
