While leaning over the barriers to celebrate his victory at the Silverstone GP with his fans, Lando Norris was suddenly struck mid-air by a photographer who accidentally fell right onto him.
In a weekend that saw him triumph for the first time in front of his home crowd, the British GP ended on a rather unpleasant note for Lando Norris.
After completing all his post-race media sessions, the McLaren driver was making his way towards the fans still present on the track, who were loudly cheering his name.

Celebrations gone wrong for Norris

Unfortunately, just as he was about to climb onto the barriers separating the track from the pit lane, Lando was suddenly struck mid-air by a photographer who accidentally fell right onto him.
The photographer had lost his balance after a section of the black covering that had been applied to the barrier came loose.
The heavy fall was anything but light, with Norris taking a hard blow to the face. He appeared to be in quite a bit of pain, repeatedly touching the area around his nose.
The driver was later escorted away by several McLaren team members—one of whom was carrying the winner’s trophy—meaning Lando was unable to celebrate in front of his home crowd.
For now, McLaren has not released any official updates on his condition, though there doesn’t appear to be any serious cause for concern.
