Star of the upcoming 'F1' movie, Brad Pitt, has praised the 'integral' impact Lewis Hamilton has had on the big-budget summer blockbuster. The seven-time world champion has been involved with the project since its earliest stages. Just before the release of the film, the Hollywood star expressed his gratitude for the 105-time Grand Prix winner.
Speaking to Will Buxton on F1's official channels, Pitt explained just how important the Ferrari driver has been within production. "Lewis Hamilton is our producer, and his knowledge has been so immensely helpful. He's been keeping us straight going, no, no, no, that doesn't fly. It needs to go this way," Pitt began.

Pitt praises Hamilton's 'incredible' knowledge

"And his knowledge, it's so incredible. Like right down to the sound, he can actually pick out and go, no, no, That's turn 12. That's not turn 16. 'You need more reverb on the straight here, you hear this massive reverb into one,' like he's that specific. It's incredible." Hamilton's wealth of F1 experience makes him the right man for the job. The Ferrari driver has started 366 Grands Prix since his debut in 2007.
Hamilton was also involved with the film earlier than Pitt. "Joe (Kosinski) went and got Lewis before he got me. He said, If I can have that kind of backing and that kind of support, then I think we can get to what I know I can do with the cameras and the car," Pitt explained.

The simply titled 'F1' film is directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton. It stars Brad Pitt as Sonny Hayes, a retired racer coaxed back into the high‑stakes world of Formula  1 alongside rookie Joshua Pearce (played by Damson Idris). Shot during actual Grand Prix events with real F1 drivers and teams, the film uses groundbreaking on‑car IMAX camera systems to deliver raw racing intensity. The highly-rated film has mainly excited film critics for its action and is scheduled for global release on 25 June 2025 (North America: 27 June).
Earlier this week, almost the full grid flocked to New York City for the premiere of the film. Some drivers, however, were not present. Click here to find out why.
