Valtteri Bottas has admitted that he is feeling good following his season-opening Australian Grand Prix win, which saw him claim his first race win since Abu Dhabi in 2017.
The Finn got an electric start off the line to overtake teammate Lewis Hamilton, and never looked back as he also claimed the first 26 point race win after he got a bonus point for the fastest lap. Bottas’ place has been rumoured to be under threat after a poor 2018, but that has been put to rest following a great start to the new season.
Speaking at the pre-Bahrain press conference Bottas admitted he’s feeling refreshed but still has a job to do this weekend.
“I feel very good but it's just a long season race and now I have to concentrate on this weekend,” Bottas said.
“We were all surprised with the performance in Melbourne but it is an anomalous circuit.

“If you look at results, and even if it's just a race, I can say for sure that something has changed in my preparation during the winter.
“It is difficult to explain in detail, I feel different from two years ago,” he added.
