Valtteri Bottas is falling further and further behind
Lewis Hamilton and
Max Verstappen in the standings. The Finn was not able to narrow that gap during the
Spanish Grand Prix, after a bad start and third place.
"The start was the key moment today, it just wasn't good enough. I lost positions, so of course in my first stint I had to work hard to regain ground and struggled with the condition of the tyres. In my second stint I was stuck behind Max Verstappen and everyone knows how hard it is to overtake here. At the end I think the start has determined everything", Valtteri Bottas says.
"I'm not sure what happened at the start, I have to check that. It looked like Lewis Hamilton had a good start at the front and the cars behind me got a good tow. I didn't have a tow at the start. Then it was tight in the first corner, I was stuck between other cars", concludes the Finn.
