Bob Fernley, former Force India team boss, died

Bob Fernley, the former team boss of Force India, has died. This was announced by Aston Martin F1, the team that eventually emerged from Force India, via Twitter on Friday evening. Fernley was 70 years old.
Fernley was involved with Force India from 2008 to 2018. Actually, he was the assistant team boss, but due to legal issues, team owner Vijay Mallya could not leave the UK for a long time. Fernley then took up the Indian's takens during race weekends.

F1 CEO Domenicali saddened

After leaving Force India, he switched to McLaren, for which he went to work for the IndyCar team. There, he worked alongside Fernando Alonso. His last position was at the FIA. Fernley was Stefano Domenicali's deputy as FIA Single-Seater Commission president. Only last year, the Briton bid farewell to the motorsport federation.
