The final verdict of the protest of Renault has fallen slightly in favour of Racing Point. The team got away with a fine and a deduction in points, fifteen in total. According to several teams, this penalty is too little and the team should be punished more severely. Before making any judgments Ferrari want to have a good overview of the situation.
"We've got the final report and we're gonna read it. It is a huge document of fourteen pages and that will certainly take time to read through and analyse. Of course, the most important conclusion is that a violation of the regulations has been found," Binotto explained to Speedweek.

Thinking carefully about follow-up steps

According to Binotto it is especially important whether the punishment is the right one for the offence. "We have to analyse whether the current punishment is severe enough. Fortunately, we have plenty of time before we have to decide what steps to take. The document mentions a number of critical points, such as the design.
"The design, the concept and more are all mentioned and what is and what isn't copied. That's very important to understand, to decide what your next steps will be," Binotto concludes.
