The ambitious Aston Martin has once again snatched a top designer from the competition. Following the move of Adrian Newey from Red Bull Racing, a well-known name from Mercedes is now joining the Silverstone-based team.
Duncan Elliott will join the British team with the title Chief Designer • Engineering and will therefore work under Newey. The Brit studied mechanical engineering at the University of Southampton. Afterwards, he spent some years working for the F1 team of Jordan. Later, he was employed by Honda and the subsequent Brawn GP.
After Mercedes took over this team, Elliott remained with them. There, he spent many years as the head of the composite design department and he won multiple championships with the Germans.
That aforementioned collaboration thus comes to its end, as Aston Martin confirmed to GPblog that Elliott joined their team. He started working for the Silverstone-based squad this week.
