McLaren have impressed the world of Formula 1 this season and have really surprised many with their performance and speed. They have cemented themselves as the 'best of the rest' a title that team boss Andreas Seidl believes is well deserved.
“There are a lot of positive aspects to take from Japan: It seems that we are constantly improving and understanding the car. The car worked really well,” Seidl said.
“I am happy with the implementation of another Sunday compared to previous race weekends this year. It is good for us to take just a little more points than Renault. Increasing the lead over the competition is great and I think we have shown that in the past three or four races we clearly have the fourth-best car on the grid.”
With the news that McLaren will use a Mercedes power unit in 2021, things are looking up at McLaren.
“We have every opportunity to secure P4 in the championship this season, which would be a good result for us. In addition, it is important that we continue to work hard on next season's car so that we can take the next step.”

Seidl has really turned McLaren around after a poor 2018. He will hope to keep up his team's performance and bring them back to the top of Formula 1 before too long.
