Franco Colapinto's arrival at Alpine as the French team's reserve driver sparked speculation surrounding a potential shortlived role as the team's current main driver for rookie Jack Doohan, with a fixed number of races set as limit for the Australian driver to perform at the level Alpine expects him to perform. However, a "very motivated" Doohan is eager to get his season underway and show what he can do.
In response to all the noise surrounding Colapinto and his potential promotion to Alpine, the French team's chief, Oliver Oakes, assured the Australian would get a ' fair crack' at his 2025 run with the team set to start with winter testing in Bahrain from February 24th to February 26th in Bahrain, before the official start to the 2025 season kicks off with the Australian Grand Prix in March from the 14th to the 16th in Melbourne.

Doohan's objective: "Getting on track and doing the work".

In conversation with Sky Sports, Doohan shed some light on his outlook on the 2025 season. "I'm very motivated. I look forward, to be honest, just to getting on track and doing the work with my hands and my feet and steering that car as best as I can".
He also revealed why his first full season in F1was 'super special.' "Been watching these guys ever since I was a little boy, especially Lewis [Hamilton], so to be coming in to be one of the 20 drivers on the grid, it's super special, and I look forward to the cementing my place here for the future."

"I'm stoked to be a part of it, being with the team all last week as well, and the start of this week, and to spend a great day capturing our moments ahead of the year as well," concluded the Australian.
