AlphaTauri are proud of themselves: 'No politics here'

For AlphaTauri, the Qatar race was one to forget. Looking at the season as a whole, the Italian team are doing well. This is in large part due to Pierre Gasly, AlphaTauri's undisputed team leader. It would therefore not be illogical for the Frenchman to be given preferential treatment within the team.

Strong synergy

However, this is an assumption that Jody Egginton is pushing far and wide. The technical director of AlphaTauri tells Motorsport-Total that just the opposite is the truth: "I don't know what goes on behind closed doors in other teams, but we're free of politics. And we divide our resources between both sides of the garage."

According to Egginton, there is a strong synergy throughout the team. "There is no division in the garage," he states. "That's something we've worked hard to create. Pierre was always a big part of that. And so is Yuki (Tsunoda). So it's not that we have to work hard to make sure that knowledge is transferred, it's organic. It sounds like a cliché, but it really is. I've been on teams where it's not. "

Travelling together

Egginton is delighted that Gasly will be driving for AlphaTauri next season too. "He knows the car, he knows the team and he's doing well," Egginton praised the Frenchman. "There is a lot of mutual trust. We've been on this journey for a while. He was with us, he left, he came back and he's developing. But his approach is always honest and straightforward."
