Alfa Romeo confirm Giovinazzi set to be given prestigious award

Alfa Romeo have confirmed Antonio Giovinazzi will be handed the Trofeo Lorenzo Bandini at the weekend.
Bandini tragically died at the 1967 Monaco Grand Prix, losing control of his car and crashing. The Ferrari Bandini was in caught fire and the driver was trapped inside. Three days later, Bandini was pronounced dead following third-degree burns.
Valtteri Bottas was handed the award last season - with the honour given out annually.
There have been some very big names in Formula 1 who have previously won this award - with the likes of Michael Schumacher, Kimi Raikkonen and Fernando Alonso all being given it at one point.
World champions such as Jenson Button, Jacques Villeneuve, Sebastian Vettel, Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton have all been previously awarded the prize.

The ceremony will take place in Brisighella, Italy on Saturday 15 June, with more than 15,000 people expected to fill the streets of the Italian town. Giovinazzi will drive his Alfa Romeo car on the roads.
As well as the main award going to Giovinazzi, several members of the Alfa Romeo side will be handed honours, too. Simone Resta (technical director), Xevi Pujolar (head of track engineering) and Jan Monchaux (head of aerodynamics) will all being provided with awards.
