Red Bull Racing is having an excellent season. The Austrian team is proving to be very competitive with Mercedes and even topped the world championship table with Max Verstappen. Alexander Albon is playing an important role behind the scenes.
The driver was allowed to call himself a teammate of Verstappen for a year and a half but had to make way for Sergio Pérez after disappointing results. Although the Mexican didn't make a good impression in every race this season, it seems that the driver will also be part of the Red Bull team next season.
Albon may not have a role in Formula 1 this season, but that doesn't mean he doesn't contribute. In fact, the driver is in the simulator after every race. "I was in the simulator for four days before the Hungary GP," Albon explains on the official Red Bull website. "That takes a lot of time and effort for the team and already includes development work on the car for 2022."

Future of Albon

However, the driver does not rule out the possibility of working in another sport next season. "In my situation, you always have to stay open to other options like Indycars or Formula E. Now is the time for the talks to start. But if there is an opportunity to stay in the Red Bull family, I will take it without a doubt."
