Alexander Albon has been released from hospital in Milan and is back home. The Williams driver had to stay in hospital longer than expected due to complications following his appendectomy.

Albon is back home

Williams told BBC Sport that Albon was released from hospital on Tuesday and is back at home in Monaco. The driver suffered respiratory failure after the operation on his appendix, presumably due to the effect of the anaesthetic. As a result, he had to spend some time in intensive care. His recovery is going according to plan and the goal remains a return for the Singapore Grand Prix on October 2.
On Saturday morning it was determined that Albon could not participate in the Italian GP due to acute appendicitis. The Thai driver underwent surgery the same day, while Nyck de Vries took over the wheel for the remainder of the weekend.
