Abiteboul has yet to think about tattooing: 'That was after a few beers'

Cyril Abiteboul can get ready for a tattoo after Daniel Ricciardo's podium. The two had made a bet about a possible podium and that is now going to cost Renault's team boss dearly.

Ricciardo made the switch to Renault in 2019, taking a step backwards from Red Bull Racing. Nevertheless, the Australian remains ambitious and sees opportunities for a podium. Abiteboul made that bet with him, after a few beers after the British Grand Prix in 2019.

''I believe he may choose the design and I may choose the location and size. The size is important. As long as I'm allowed to determine the size, I think I'll get away with every design. A tattoo isn't really my style and that's of course how the bet came about. I remember that night in Silverstone, where Daniel just showed me a new tattoo," says Abiteboul according to Motorsport.com.

''Then, after a few beers, I said I would get a tattoo if he got a podium and I'm a man of my word. I'll do it, but I'll need some time to think about the size and place," concludes Abiteboul who heard Ricciardo thinking out loud after the race about the possible designs.
