Verstappen and Perez joke about Marko: 'Have you seen his six pack?'

From the conversation between Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez in the new Talking Bull podcast, it's clear that the two teammates are not only getting to know each other better as they go along, but they're both becoming increasingly familiar with the whims of Red Bull chief Helmut Marko as well. The two joke about Marko's moment of fame on the podium in Austria, as well as his disdain for betting, something Max Verstappen has personal experience with.

The jokes begin when the two drivers, in the latest episode of the Talking Bull podcast, look ahead to many more podiums for the team in 2021. The two are immediately reminded of Helmut Marko's moment on the podium in Austria when Max Verstappen emptied his champagne bottle over the Austrian's head.

"I thought Helmut was already getting a heart attack here on the podium", Verstappen begins. "He was all out of breath because we were trying to spray him with champagne, but of course the mask was in front. Then his whole shirt was getting wet, so everyone could see the Doctor’s sixpack. Did you see the sixpack? He’s strong."

Bets

Verstappen is then asked if he ever made a bet with Marko. Verstappen refutes this but does state that he has tried several times. "We have been so close so many times [to making a bet]. The last few football matches of course, but he always backs out in the end", the Dutchman says.

Verstappen continued: "Just before we make a bet, he thinks: ‘No, I don’t trust the guy.’  He only bets when he feels really comfortable. I also don’t really like betting, but who knows, maybe in the future."
