Romain Grosjean already achieved his first successes in the IndyCar in May and former teammate Kevin Magnussen has now also achieved his first successes after years without major successes with Haas in Formula 1. After 2020 he made the switch to IMSA and in Detroit, he has now scored his first pole position.

Along with Renger van der Zande, they secured the first pole position for Chip Ganassi Racing since 2015. So the former Haas drivers have both regained their form in America, with Grosjean scoring his first podium finish in Indianapolis and Magnussen set to start from first place in IMSA for the first time.

Magnussen enjoys success

Magnussen himself also finds it extraordinary that he and Grosjean have found their niche in America. "I have now achieved pole position and he has already been on the podium. I already knew he has a lot of talent in him and it's good to see that he can now show that in the IndyCar. I will definitely follow him this weekend, it's great to see him live in the IndyCar", Magnussen explained in conversation with Autoweek.

Magnussen and Grosjean are both in Detroit this weekend, where the IMSA and IndyCar are running. The Dane is aware that he can still win more this season. "When I signed I knew I had a chance to win races. We haven't done that yet, but we've had the lead in our hands and are in the fight to win. it's a lot more fun than what I've been doing the last few years."
