A title fight decided on the last lap of the final race: it sounds like a dream scenario, but in reality it has been quite divisive. Some Lewis Hamilton fans feel that the Briton has been "robbed" of his eighth world title and that Max Verstappen should not have become champion. However, according to a British Formula One website, those divisions are not too bad.
The British Formula1News.co.uk recently posted a poll asking whether the result of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix was manipulated to Hamilton's disadvantage. A whopping 82 percent of readers believe that it was not and that Verstappen deservedly became champion.

Not all British F1 fans think Abu Dhabi 'rigged'

The poll result is notable for being a British medium. Much of the outcry over the outcome of the 2021 Formula One season comes from Britain, but so that feeling does not prevail among all Britons.
The website posted another poll with a striking result. The question was whether Hamilton should hang up his helmet after the defeat against Verstappen. The result: 61 percent of readers believe that the seven-time world champion should call it quits in 2022.
