Ocon has special bond with Imola GP: "Can't wait"

Next weekend, after three weeks of waiting, a Formula One weekend is finally upon us. The Emilia Romagna GP promises to be an exciting race, both for the front teams and in the middle line.

Esteban Ocon has a special bond with the circuit on which the drivers will be racing next weekend. The Alpine driver won the 2014 European Formula 3 Championship at the circuit. Max Verstappen also won the race that year, but it was not enough to keep Ocon from the championship.

Both men will be back in Formula 1 this weekend. Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton have to fight it out at the front to see who wins the race, but Ocon is also looking forward to the race. He told that during a Q&A on social media. "Last year, it was a lot of fun driving a modern Formula 1 car around Imola. The corner combinations there are so fast."

Ocon finds circuit a great challenge

According to Ocon, Sector 1 is so fast that there is little room for error. "You need confidence in the car to attack the quick changes of direction. In Sector 2 there's Acque Minerale, the famous, downhill up and down right. The angles and kerbs make it a great challenge and I can't wait to attack the circuit right from the first session on friday."
