Helmut Marko has clarified to Austrian media that he has no immediate plans to retire. The 81-year-old Red Bull advisor acknowledged that he had previously considered stepping away from Formula 1, even suggesting Sebastian Vettel as a possible successor. However, Marko now emphasizes that his departure is not on the horizon just yet.

Marko is not done with F1 yet

Marko named four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel as a potential successor as an advisor at Red Bull Racing. "That was once an idea of mine", Marko confirmed with the Austrian oe24.
The German, after all, won his four world titles with the Milton Keynes based team between 2010 and 2013.

Despite the idea, the Austrian affirmed media that he is not ready to retire as of right now. "But that has nothing to do with being ready for a decision (to retire). We are not there yet."
For now, Marko will continue to make his presence known in the Formula 1 paddock. "I don't know who wants to send me into retirement at the end of the year? In any case, I'm not going to do that: whoever rests will rust", said the Austrian.
