Alexander Albon has become the fourth dropout of the Eifel Grand Prix. The Thai of Red Bull Racing had a dramatic race, which eventually had to put his car in the team's garage prematurely. With a blocking tyre and an accident with Daniil Kvyat, which gave him a penalty, Red Bull thought it was enough and eventually Albon had to park his car in the pit lane.

The Thai was originally in a good spot at the start, but blocked his left front tyre in the third corner. After a few laps he had to stop for new tyres because of the vibrations, so he had to chase. On top of that he hit Kvyat, giving him a five second penalty. It looked like he was going for a pit stop to pass the penalty, but he turned his car off in front of his mechanics, after which his race was over.

Red Bull gives clarity

Red Bull has clarified the reason why they put Albon's car in the garage halfway through the Grand Prix. According to the team, a problem has been found with the Albon engine, which will now be looked into.
