Ferrari had a dramatic weekend in Belgium. Before the Grand Prix this was already expected but during the race it became painfully clear again how big the problem is with the Italian team. Charles Leclerc managed to move up to ninth place by a good start, but those positions were soon lost due to the lack of speed.

Mattia Binotto does not yet think that Ferrari is in crisis. "I don't think you can call it a crisis yet. It's certainly a bad result in the difficult season that we already have. We saw this coming from the winter test," Binotto explains to Motorsport.com. "We know that we are building for the future now."

Everyone responsible

"We are not yet in crisis, but we are in the middle of the storm. We know our route now and we need to look for solutions to keep our future positive." However, Binotto cannot deny that things are going very badly now. "It is clear that this is a very bad result. This is a track that requires power and aerodynamic speed. What is clear is that we are lagging behind on both fronts," Binotto realistically explains.

"We are all responsible for this situation. I take responsibility as team boss, but everyone who works for Ferrari takes that responsibility too. We are all in the same situation and we are hugely connected. I think we have to turn the current frustration into reaction and perseverance," concludes Bintto.
