Sainz: "We saw that Racing Point and Renault are stronger"

For Carlos Sainz, Friday was a huge difference compared to the weeks before. The Spanish driver had good results in Austria, but in Hungary, he wasn't able to continue that good form just yet. For the driver of McLaren it is still a huge search for the reason why his car didn't set fast times.

"It was a disaster in the dry in the morning," the Spaniard told Sky Sports and explained: "We saw that Racing Point and Renault are stronger. We wanted to try out a few things to improve the car. But we didn't have the chance because it was raining [in FP2]. We don't know how it will go tomorrow."

Hoping for dry weather on Saturday

"It was colder today than we expected. The car didn't have a good balance on the soft tyres," he added, so a dry FP3 could be important to try a few things before qualifying.
