Alexander Albon qualified in seventh place on Saturday during a tough session at the Styrian GP.

The Thai driver’s fastest lap was half a second behind that of team mate Max Verstappen’s effort and Albon was slightly disappointed after the session.

In the wet session Albon found it tough going, but he will start from sixth place due to Lando Norris’ grid penalty.

Asked by GPBlog.com if the Red Bull is better this weekend than last week, Albon replied:

“Compared to last weekend I'm having a harder time now. I still have to find out exactly how this happened. The package is better, but I'm struggling to get the most out of it. The rain is what it is. The car's weak spots are more noticeable and the car itself is harder to drive.”

Albon had some difficulties with his car during Friday practice, so he made us of data from his Dutch teammate Verstappen.

After the cancellation of FP3, Albon headed into qualifying without having the car in the perfect set-up. GPBlog asked via video call whether the data from Verstappen was still relevant in the rain.

“Yes, the data is still valuable and during the session we were just as fast. Except for my mistake in Q3 we were pretty much the same and then of course data remains data. It's valuable, but you can also look at Lewis' times and see where he was all faster,” Albon concluded.
