Verstappen won three races in 2019 in Austria, Germany and Brazil as he secured third in the Drivers' Championship. It was his highest finish in Formula 1 but his sights now turn to 2020 and hope a of title push.
The Red Bull driver is hopeful of being on course to challenge for the World Championship come Melbourne.
“As a team we want to be able to fight for the title, we want to do well," Verstappen said as quoted by his official website.
"Time will tell because at this moment it is very difficult to say where we stand compared to the competition. But of course we are doing everything to take that step forward.
"We are on the right track. I hope that we can go for a podium every race this year.
"Hopefully, things will get exciting on track. I am up for it and looking forward to it!”
