Toto Wolff believes that Robert Kubica would have been a world champion if he hadn't had the accident which left him with an injured hand. The Pole raced for the last time with Williams at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix but the Mercedes boss is certain that he will remain part of the sport in one way or another.
"I was very happy that he returned to the world of Formula 1," Toto Wolff told Polish TV channel TVP. "He has proved to the people who doubted that even with such an injury he can drive the car and fight with it.
“I think he will stay connected to our world in a different role. You never know with Robert, maybe he will come back. Without that accident, he would have been world champion and with his knowledge he could still be world champion in another role."
Kubica's story is incredibly inspirational and many will hope that he will remain in the sport and continue to prove that injury doesn't always have to end a Formula 1 career.
