Having finished the first 14 races without fail, George Russell has failed to complete the last two. However, the rookie is full of optimism heading into the Japanese Grand Prix.

Russell's first DNF came at the Singapore Grand Prix and he followed it up when his Russian Grand Prix came to a premature end. Despite all of the struggles Russell has faced at Williams this season the Brit has impressed beating his teammate, Robert Kubica for most of the season.

The Williams driver is confident the Suzuka circuit will suit the team more than the Russian Grand Prix in Sochi did and is looking forward to making his Japanese debut.

"Japan is a race that I have been looking forward to for a long time, and it is a fantastic circuit that I can’t wait to drive," Russell said in Williams' Japan preview.

"The fans are extremely passionate, I have only been there once as a reserve driver and even then, it was a really great feeling.

"The nature of the circuit should suit us better than Sochi did, so hopefully we can show a bit more pace. All in all, I am really looking forward to it.
