It hasn't been plain sailing for Max Verstappen and Red Bull lately with the Dutch driver recently criticising the progress they were making. Helmut Marko has responded to this and has actually admitted Verstappen is partly right.
Verstappen was one of the standout drivers before the summer break winning two races, claiming a maiden pole position and sitting third in the Drivers' Championship. However, the Red Bull driver has only achieved one podium since the mid-season break which led to his comments regarding the team not making enough progress.
Marko has now responded to the situation and even he conceded that Max was right but even he couldn't help make a comment about Max's recent crashes.
“In part, Max is right. But, he twice ended his race in the first corner, those things can happen," Marko told Auto Bild
However, Marko didn't seem to have a problem with Verstappen expressing his views and added: "Fundamentally, at Red Bull we want drivers with their own opinion and they should also be able to express that opinion. It’s no problem.”
