Haas team principal Gunther Steiner believes that the American team can maintain its impressive form from Melbourne at the second race of the season in Bahrain.

Haas impressed many after securing sixth and seventh on the grid in Australia with Kevin Magnussen going on to finish in sixth, the only car outside of the top three teams not to be lapped.

Steiner said he was looking forward to Bahrain to test where they stacked up against their rivals, adding that the second race should see more of the same from his team.

"Our car showed that it was fast in Barcelona and in Australia, so I don’t foresee anything different for Bahrain," he explained.

"It’s great for Formula 1 to have a battle like this in the midfield. It would be fantastic if this was at the front – if it could be for first, second and third.

"Nearly every race could have a different winner. The podium would be filled by more than just three teams. I think it’s very tight.

"We’re looking forward to the battle because it’s always good to go to the racetrack and have something to fight for."
