Ricciardo: "I'll say some funny sh*t on the radio so they miss me more"

Daniel Ricciardo claims he will "say some funny sh*t" on the radio so that Red Bull miss him more next season. The Australian will move across to Renault after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix to complete his shock summer signing.

He'll start from 5th on the grid after a decent qualifying session yesterday. With his Monaco win in the bag, Ricciardo looked set to have a promising season, but he hasn't ventured onto the podium since that event in May. Over the back-end of the season, his RB14 has continuously broken down.

ESPN asked him if he would take extra risks to get onto the podium this afternoon. In an attempt to go out with a bang, he's prepared to take these risks.

"Yes, well I'm always prepared, so I'm not going to say I'll take more risks than I normally do. I'll try. Nothing to lose," Ricciardo said.

"But I have not had anything to lose all year, so for once we will try to get a strong start, and just attack put pressure on, and be relentless. Sometimes cooling down is good for the tires. But I'm just going to try and put pressure on the whole race and hope for a mistake if I'm behind one of those guys."

The 29-year-old is sure he will feel emotional when he leaves the Red Bull garage for the final time. But he's going to go out and enjoy the race and hopefully give his team-mates something to miss.

If I was retiring it would be a different story. But I'm just moving next door," Ricciardo added.

"It has certainly made me realize that I'm not ready to retire cause the way some people have talked about it I'm like 'I'd hate to be retired'. Just ready to say goodbye and do a good race, finish strong, try and have a good chat on the radio and say some funny sh*t so they can miss me more next year!"
