Facts about F1 testing, Ferrari the fastest, Red Bull well behind

The F1 winter tests are finished. Over the past three days, a total of 3695 laps were driven by all teams combined. GPBlog lists some interesting facts for you.

Red Bull Racing did not set the fastest time of all three days, that honour went to Ferrari. They took places one and two in Bahrain. Carlos Sainz managed to set a time of 1:29.9 on the second day. His teammate Charles Leclerc is in second place with a time of 1:30.3. He completed that on day two. Both Ferrari men drove on the C4 tyres.

Number of laps per team

The difference between the team that drove the most laps and the least is quite substantial. Whereas Haas led the way in terms of the number of laps driven with 441, Williams drove a lot less with 299. Still, Albon managed to drive a faster lap on behalf of Williams unlike the Haas men. Albon managed to set a time of 1:30.9 on the C4 tyre. Haas' fastest, Nico Hülkenberg, managed no faster than 1:31.6 on the C3 tyre.

Of course, it is also interesting to see which engine suppliers drove the most laps and who was the fastest in them.

Honda: 758 laps - Sergio Perez - 1:30.679

Mercedes: 1367 laps - George Russell - 1:30.368

Ferrari: 1236 laps - Carlos Sainz - 1:29.921

Renault: 334 laps - Esteban Ocon - 1:32.061

Now of course it looks like the Renault drove extremely few laps, but in terms of average it is not too bad. Ferrari has three teams using their engines. Thanks to the sterling work of Haas, Stake and, of course, Ferrari, they have averaged 412 laps. Behind them is the Honda engine with 379 laps on average. Then Mercedes, 344 laps and then Renault with, of course, 334.
